Consensys, developer of MetaMask Wallet, is suing the SEC. They filed their lawsuit on Thursday April 25th as Moon trined Mars in the sky from Mars’s sign of Scorpio, a particularly testy sign.
Apparently the SEC sent Consensys a Wells Notice earlier this month, which means that the SEC will be suing Consensys. So Consensys jumped ahead and sued them first. The SEC is saying that Consensys operates as a broker selling securities when people use their wallet MetaMask to transact on Ethereum. Meanwhile Consensys says in Thursday’s court filing against the SEC that “the SEC has previously told the world that ETH is not a security, and not within the SEC’s statutory jurisdiction.”
